Hock E Aye Vi Edgar Heap of Birds: HONOR SONG is the first retrospective of Edgar Heap of Birds’s body of work. Known internationally for his 40 years worth of colorful prints, abstract paintings, drawings, glassworks, sculptures, and public works, Heap of Birds addresses Indigenous rights, sovereignty, and relationships to place through his pieces. I worked with Edgar to create an identity that incorporated his all-caps script from the piece Given Red Stone and a Song, 2019. He felt this identity strongly showcased his breadth of work in a single graphic. It is featured on the elevator door, brochure cover and presentational backgrounds.
For Hock E Aye Vi Edgar Heap of Birds: Neufs for Oklahoma Autumn, an accompanying basketball court installation to Honor Song, I created a 3D rendering of the installation.
